Monday at exactly 5:15pm a private jet landed at the closed Maiduguri Int Airport, an Airport that is closed to travel and not even allowed to airlift Umrah and Hajj pilgrims to the holy land of Mecca. Ex Borno Governor accused of being a Boko Haram founding sponsor and under investigations by the State Security department, Senator Ali Modu Sheriff disembarked and was seen escorted with a heavy military escort to his house in convoy.
Everyone has firm belief that the administration of Goodluck Ebele Jonathan will never prosecute the named terror sponsors despite the fact that the public have found them guilty with loads of public evidence.
Instead, the ruling Party continuously keeps romancing and covering them.
Recently, Ali Sheriff was in Chad to receive the President of Nigeria and very reliable sources have confirmed to NewsRescue that Goodluck, SAS and Idriss Deby entered into a close door meeting that lasted for over an hour.
For a very long time now, the Military have stopped guarding or escorting the Governor of Borno State, but an alleged Boko Haram Sponsor under Federal investigation was given full military protection rather than for him to be in detention and his passport seized as is standard procedure. His being able to jet to Chad is a grave violation of its own and a violation of national security regulations.
It can be recalled that when former CBN Governor Sanusi was under investigation his passport was “rightly” seized and he was barred from international travel.
Now that the named Boko Haram sponsor, Ali Modu Sheriff is in Maiduguri, Nigerians based there promise to keep vigil and see what are his missions apart from attending the 7th day traditional prayers to the dead mother of Kashim Imam one of his closest political allies.
The Civilian-JTF have been hunting him for a long time and perhaps will defy the military protection he is illegally assigned.
